SARE - SpamAssassin Rules Emporium

Archived Rules

Spam technology changes over time, and anti-spam technology must also change accordingly. Because of this, rules which at one time are very useful for identifying spam can lose their power over time, and eventually become obsolete. As SARE identifies rules which become obsolete, we will archive them here, ready to revive them should their utility return.

Archive # 1KWS Spam Sentences
Description:

On November 10, 2003, Colin A Bartlett contributed this set of rules to the SpamAssassin community, calling it his spamsentence.cf

These sentences were taken from http://members.tripod.com/quitit/id86.htm and used by (we think one specific spammer) to try to sneak through spam filters. Colin discovered their source, and built a rule set containing all the sentences from that page. Those of us who used them were freed from this spammer.

The last of these spams have fallen from Bob Menschel's corpus, which maintains four months' of spam. We therefore archive these rules. If/when a spammer is found to be using these sentences again, we will revive them.
